Book Review: Passion By, Lauren Kate

Passion (Fallen, #3)

Luce would die for Daniel.
And she has. Over and over again. Throughout time, Luce and Daniel have found each other, only to be painfully torn apart: Luce dead, Daniel left broken and alone. But perhaps it doesn’t need to be that way. . .
Luce is certain that something—or someone—in a past life can help her in her present one. So she begins the most important journey of this lifetime . . . going back eternities to witness firsthand her romances with Daniel . . . and finally unlock the key to making their love last.

Cam and the legions of angels and Outcasts are desperate to catch Luce, but none are as frantic as Daniel. He chases Luce through their shared pasts, terrified of what might happen if she rewrites history.

Because their romance for the ages could go up in flames . . . forever.
Sweeping across centuries, PASSION is the third novel in the unforgettably epic FALLEN series.

Passion is my favorite book in the Fallen series thus far. It starts where Torment left off. Luce has just witnessed yet another battle between the angels and outcast, all over her soul. And she is questioning the love her and Daniel share.  So she steps through time to witness for herself her past lives. What follows is a heart wrenching look at love across the ages. What Luce is looking for is the key to break the curse that has bound her soul to Daniel's and their doomed love. What she finds is so much more.
From young Victorian lovers, to the Ottoman Empire , and straight to the beginning of time, we witness the kind of pure love that can only be bound in heaven.
But we also witness the fall of the angels, the battle with Lucifer, and the start of the "End Times". Kate steps up her story, and her writing, in this novel.  She isn't afraid to blur the line between good and evil, and her main character, the beautiful fallen angel Daniel, tells it like it is.
Next to vampires, I have a thing for Angels, especially fallen ones. One of the best things about the paranormal genre is the ability to put your own spin on the world. You are free to create, and Lauren Kate does it well in this one. If you want a quick paranormal read with a romantic heart, Passion is for you. I am keeping this one on the shelf.
